Terms

This page is short because WASCAPE is small. No accounts, no purchases, no uploads, so most of what a standard terms-of-use document handles doesn't apply yet. The things that do apply are below. If something is unclear, the email at the bottom reaches a human.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Drive

Open the site, drive the demo, take photos, share replay links. No account needed. Driving on the public site is free and will stay free.

Share screenshots and clips

Anything captured in photo mode or recorded as a clip is yours to keep and share. I don't claim a license over your screenshots. A credit (“captured in WASCAPE”) is appreciated, not required.

Embed a public replay link

The /replay#r=… URLs are stateless and meant to be shared. Linking to one, embedding it, or quoting it is fine.

WHAT YOU CAN'T DO

  • ·Reverse-engineer the runtime, the streaming system, or the scene file format to redistribute it or to build a competing product. Reading the network tab to understand how the build works is fine. Cloning the streaming format off the wire is not.
  • ·Scrape, batch-download, or systematically mirror the arena captures. They're licensed for in-browser play, not for republication.
  • ·Wrap the demo in another app, frame it inside a paid product, or present it as your own. Linking out to wascape.com is the only commercial use granted.
  • ·Use WASCAPE to host, render or distribute content that's unlawful in your jurisdiction. Photo-mode captures of the built-in arenas only. You can't load your own scenes into the public build.
  • ·Probe the runtime for vulnerabilities outside of a responsible-disclosure context. Found something? Email below and I'll thank you.

WHO OWNS WHAT

The engine, the brand, the tech

The runtime (the WASCAPE renderer, the streaming system, the site itself), the wordmark, the visual identity, and the source code are owned by the founder. Open-source components are used under their respective licenses.

The captures

The drivable scenes are real-world Gaussian-splat captures. They're sourced from public datasets or self-captured and licensed for in-browser play on this site. Republishing the raw scene files (the .ply assets) is out of scope.

Your screenshots, clips, and replays

You own anything you capture in-game. I claim no license over photo-mode PNGs, recorded clips, or replay URLs.

LIABILITY

WASCAPE is a browser tech demo provided as-is. It depends on WebGPU, which is still maturing, so driver bugs, GPU resets, and tab crashes are possible. Save your work elsewhere first. I'm not liable for lost time, lost data outside my control, or hardware that misbehaves under load.

I don't offer a service-level agreement. The site may go down, an arena may break in a deploy, a browser update may regress performance. I'll fix what I can, when I can.

REAL-WORLD CAPTURES · TAKEDOWN

The arenas are real places. If you recognise yourself, your property, your vehicle, your signage, or anything else in a capture that you'd rather not see in a public demo, email me and I'll remove it within a week. No legal threat needed. Just ask.

CHANGES

If these terms change in a way that affects you (new restrictions, new commercial terms, account creation), the change will be announced on /changelog before it takes effect. Fixing typos or clarifying ambiguity isn't announced.

JURISDICTION

WASCAPE operates out of Bengaluru, India. Disputes that can't be resolved by writing to the address below fall under Indian law and the courts of Bengaluru. Use of the site from anywhere else is at your own discretion.
